(Maori translation for "The Spirit of Love")1.It is the seventh day since the cold, unforgiving winter chill
Broke over the suburban Pine Hill.
I remembered days ago. When the first snowflakes fell into Otago harbour
(melting away almost instantaneously.)
I sat by the old, coal fireplace, staring into the flames -
The tree of life, the fruits of the spirit,
the everlasting place of love.
There was the Rose of Sharon, there in its full glory.
Only in passion and warmth will it flower, in death-cold winter it withers.
Waiting to efflorescent again next summer.
Its beauty is ever mesmerizing, its flowers large and bright
Hidden beneath sits its weaknesses: it roots so shallow, so light.
Gusty winds like winter's friend, are hunters of the Rose.
When subjected to adverse conditions, No! Never! :-
Not here in the garden of everlasting love.
To garderners, to pruners, to all who grow these plants.
Be gentle, be true - for it is like a little lamb:
delicate when small but after years of cultivating,
It never breaks, it never fails.
Its beauty is rewarding, its beauty is real.
Two hummingbirds perched on a branch singing sweet melodies.
" You're safe, you're secure, you're my one true love.
Don't ever leave me please.
If you could fly this way my bird.
I'll leave with peace within."
Then the birds wandered around the tree of love,
conversing with its flowers.
They learnt the knowledge of the Rose and spread its
Seeds of love to all. Till the next summer comes again,
more flowers in the garden will there be.
Red, Gold, Blue and Green. The flames heat up the room.
Although the passion is short-lived, it heats up once again.
Communication, and the fruits of the spirit makes up the flame of love.
This is the knowledge: The Wairua Aroha way.
